PFF Preview: Redskins @ Colts, Week 13

2014-Prev-WK13-WAS@INDNewly named starting QB Colt McCoy and the Redskins will take on the Indianapolis Colts and their Top-5-ranked corner in Vontae Davis.

In McCoy’s lone start against Dallas he posted a +2.1 passing grade and also a +1.2 rushing grade. In that week he graded out as the fifth ranked quarterback in PFF Rating with a 100.49 mark. He was tied with Drew Brees at seventh for his performance under pressure and had an Accuracy Percentage of 83.3% which was good for fifth.

Vontae Davis ranks third in coverage among cornerbacks with at least 280 snaps. He has yet to allow a TD on the year and has collected three interceptions. He has surrendered the lowest opponent passer rating in his coverage with a 40.8 rating, and is tied for fifth with Richard Sherman and Antonio Cromartie in Yards Per Coverage Snap.

Here are three more notable numbers for each side:

Washington Redskins

Ryan Kerrigan – Comes in fourth in Pass Rushing Productivity, and has 46 pressures on the year which is second to only Justin Houston among 3-4 OLBs.

Kory Lichtensteiger – Ranks as the fourth-best center in Pass Blocking Efficiency and has yet to allow a sack or a hit this year.

Niles Paul – Ranks fourth among tight ends in Yards Per Route Run among those with at least 45 targets. He also boasts the second-highest Deep Passing catch rate among tight ends.

Indianapolis Colts

Coby Fleener – Has filled in nicely in Dwayne Allen’s absence: in Weeks 10-12 where Allen has only had 14 snaps, Fleener has the highest pass rating +3.5 among all tight ends in that span.

D’Qwell Jackson – Ranks eighth in Run Stop Percentage among inside linebackers with at least 175 run snaps and ranks 11th in Tackling Efficiency among those with at least 170 snaps.

Colts Special Teams – The Colts have an absurd +67.4 cumulative special teams grade on the year, with the second-best mark coming in at +36.5. They have a Top-5 special teamer in Colt Anderson while Pat McAfee is doing justice as the top-rated punter and is the top-rated kickoff specialist for 2014.
