PFF Preview: Cardinals @ Falcons, Week 13

2014-Prev-WK13-ARZ@ATLThe Cardinals’ cornerback duo of Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie will head into Atlanta this week to cover Roddy White and Julio Jones.

The two corners come in with Cromartie as the highest rated corner in the league and Peterson ranked 16th. Cromartie has only allowed two touchdowns to his three interceptions and has the third lowest opponent quarterback rating when targeted with a 57.9 mark. Peterson meanwhile has the equal best Tackling Efficiency among corners, missing none in the running game and only one against the pass all year.

Over the past three weeks Jones has been one of the most prolific WRs, ranking 11th in Yards per Route Run, while White hasn’t been too far behind, ranking 16th. In the same time span White provided a WR Rating of 126.6, ranking fifth, with two touchdowns, while Jones was 18th by the same metric. Jones has been impressive going deep though, catching two of his seven targets over 20 yards, including a touchdown.

Here are three more notable numbers for each side:

Arizona Cardinals

Larry Foote – Has the 10th highest Run Stop Percentage among ILBs with at least 205 snaps, and has a total of 30 stops on the year.

John Brown – Rated third in WR Rating, and fourth in Yards Per Route Run among rookie WRs with 60 targets. Has four touchdowns of 20 or more yards.

Calais Campbell – The No. 1 3-4 DE in Run Stop Percentage among those with 150 snaps against run, and also comes in at fourth in Pass Rushing Productivity with 33 pressures.

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan – An impressive year he’s putting together: ninth highest QB in PFF QB Rating, seventh in Accuracy Percentage, fourth in Deep Passing accuracy, and fifth in Accuracy Percentage Under Pressure.

Josh Wilson – Comes in as the fourth best rated corner in Slot Performance with the seventh best Yards per Coverage Snap number among those with 145 snaps.

Deone Buchannon – Leads all rookie safeties in Tackling Efficiency missing only three on the year and also leads them in stops with a total of 28.

Deone Bucannon (no h) is a Cardinals player, not a Falcons player. In fact, he was in the last “Performances of note”!
