PFF Preview: Broncos @ Chargers, Week 15

2014-Prev-WK15-DEN@SDRising running back C.J. Anderson and the Denver Broncos will head into San Diego this weekend for a divisional battle against Melvin Ingram and the Chargers.

Anderson is second to only Le’Veon Bell in overall running back grade with a +16.1 mark and has played about 45% of the snaps that Bell has played. He grades out green with his run grade, pass grade, and with his blocking. Since getting major playing time in Week 10, he has amassed 35 missed tackles forced, has nine runs of 15 yards or more, and is seventh among backs in Yards Per Route Run.

Ingram made his return from injury in Week 11 and has made his presence felt ever since. He has posted three green overall grades the past four weeks and is seventh among 3-4 OLBs in Run Stop Percentage with 10 tackles and seven of those went for stops. He really showed how stout he could be against the Patriots last week posting a +3.0 grade against the run. He also ranks 18th in Pass Rush Productivity in the same span among 3-4 OLBs with 105 snaps or more against the pass.

Here are three more notable numbers for each side:

Denver Broncos

Brandon Marshall – He has been a stud this year with a +19.3 overall rating while grading out +4.5 or higher in run defense, pass rush, and coverage.

Derek Wolfe – Huge against the run with a +13.0 grade on the year and leads all 4-3 DEs with at least 160 snaps in Run Stop Percentage.

Orlando Franklin – The transition from RT to LG has gone smoothly as Franklin has graded above +6.0 run blocking and pass blocking, and is ranked third among guards in Pass Blocking Efficiency.

San Diego Chargers

Philip Rivers – It’s a special feat to be Top 10 in both PFF QB Rating and Accuracy Percentage when all 10 of your offensive linemen that have played this year have graded negatively in pass protection.

Jerry Attaochu – Ranks second to Aaron Lynch among all rookie 3-4 OLBs in Pass Rushing Productivity garnering 11 hurries in 81 passing rush snaps.

Eric Weddle – The No. 1 overall graded safety comes in at sixth in Tackling Efficiency with only four tackles missed all year. Weddle also has the highest coverage grade among safeties at +13.0.
