PFF Pick’em: Week 7

The PFF staff performed well across the board last week, with everyone getting at least 10 winners. Are they getting wiser, or is predicting football getting easier?

PFF Pick’em: Week 7

new-pickem-featureIt seems our tipsters are warming to the challenge. Everyone scored in double figures last week, headed by Khaled’s impressive 12-3 mark that earned him a share of first place overall.

Furthermore, after missing on multiple unanimous choices for the only time on the year in Week 5, the team bounced back to go 7-1 last week and is now 30-7 on the season when all are agreed — an impressive 81% mark.

This week there’s agreement on six games, while the Colts, Texans, Redskins, Titans, and even Jaguars all have just the single admirer.

You guys have terrible records for people that do this for a living.

    • FunkTron

It’s attempting to predict the future. Nobody knows the future, not even people who analyze it for a living. Get real.

  • Leroy Kelly

You’re not even predicting against the spreads, and yet you’re all this atrocious?

Football picks are one of the iffiest endeavours known to mankind. From what I’ve seen, 65-70% success rate is the norm, even for experts. The problem is, most NFL games are close and subject to innumerable variables that can (and often do) change during the game (i.e., injuries, turnovers, etc.). If the NFL were utterly predictable (even 80% predictable) the mastermind who figured it out would be the richest human being in the world and football would suddenly become the most boring thing to watch. That hasn’t happened yet, kids.
