Peyton Manning has had not one, not two, but three surgeries on his neck. A lot of people said that there was no way he could bounce back from that many surgeries. Apparently the Colts agreed with them.
Well, not entirely.
The Colts had a unique situation on their hands considering Manning missed the entire 2011 season where they finished with a 2-14 record, and put them in line for the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft. They decided to cut Manning. That is where they drafted Andrew Luck, and the rest as they say “is history.” Or is it?
We are in a similar spot here in 2015. Not from a NFL team standpoint, but from a fantasy standpoint. When Manning went through his neck rehab, everyone was questioning whether or not he would be able to return from all of those neck surgeries. They had some good reasons to question him, not only because of the surgeries, but how he had faded towards the end of the 2010 season (the last time he played with the Colts).
As the year went on, Manning lost steam. Not in his throws, because he never really had that, but in his performances. He started throwing less and less as the year went on, with less efficiency too. But was he done? Not even close, but the question arises again… Is Peyton Manning done?
