Performance Report – Week 9

RoethlisbergerIn this weekly column we’ll take a look at the top performer at each position. The goal isn’t to just analyze the players individually but to identify variables that make up these top performances so we can more accurately project them in the future.

Quarterback – Ben Roethlisberger PIT

His Line:  25-37 340 yards 6 TDs, 1 yards 0 TD rushing, aDOT= 8.5, PFF Grade= 1.2

He’s back! Big Ben backed up his top performance from a week ago with another half dozen touchdown passes against the hated Ravens.

Both games were at home. The next two weeks the Steelers go on the road so expect the passing game to cool. But the question still remains: how much? And when it does, how will it effect the other Steeler skill players?

Antonio Brown will continue to be a top option at wide receiver. LeVeon Bell, despite the lack of touchdowns, should continue to produce points as a two-dimensional back. I don’t see Martavis Bryant continuing to catch touchdowns every week although he’s still worth a waiver look.

It’s been incredible what Roethlisberger has accomplished the last two weeks. He seems to be at his best at the line, calling his own plays and throwing the ball all over the field.
