Like life, fantasy football is about the journey, not just the destination. You can't just go from draft to championship seamlessly, without any changes of direction along the way. The GM who doesn't touch his roster is most certainly the one left outside of the playoff picture once the weather gets cold (if it does get cold, where you are).
Eventually, some player you believed would be the cornerstone of your fantasy roster gets injured, or gets benched, or even gets suspended. And every player, no matter how much of an every-week stud he is, has a dreaded bye week. There's simply no avoiding the waiver wire if you want to win.
But the waiver wire can be a treacherous place, one full of potential, possibility and red herrings. Trying to figure out who to add and whether that new addition is worth starting immediately is complicated enough in leagues of 10 or 12 teams. The added challenge of being in a league of 14, 16, 18 or more teams means the waiver wire is thin and often full of boom-or-bust players. Separating the true “booms” from the carefully disguised “busts” is tricky. And now it's Week 10—the margin for error for those of you trying to reach the fantasy playoffs is thin.
At least, we're here to help those of you trying to find diamonds in the rough that is the deep-league waiver wire. Here, for your consideration, are four recommended waiver-wire pickups for Week 10, especially for those of you in deep leagues.
