The takeaways from Week 1 are always intensified in the fantasy world. Those on the wrong side (owners of C.J. Anderson, Adrian Peterson, Melvin Gordon) search for reasons to back away from the ledge, while those on the right side (owners of Dion Lewis, Ameer Abdullah, Bishop Sankey) are planning their Week 16 trips to Vegas to celebrate their league championship.
Whichever side you fall on, it would serve you best to avoid overreaction. Since the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) deal reduced the length of training camp, the first three weeks of the season serve as an extension of the preseason. The weekly swings in production will be drastic. Defenses need time and tape to adapt. Injuries are random and depth charts are fluid.

New England Patriots – Chase After Dion Lewis
In the preseason edition of this series, I remarked that while James White logged 118 snaps to Dion Lewis’ 38 during the preseason, the usage and efficiency data supported Lewis emerging as the prime target for the Vereen/Woodhead/Faulk role. And while I would love to pat myself on the back for recommending Dion Lewis over James White, even I couldn’t have envisioned Lewis’ domination of both early-down and passing-down snaps in the season opener.
