The final non-football weekend on the 2015 calendar proved to be a wild one, with several potentially fantasy-relevant trades, a handful of season-ending injuries and some players banished to the practice squad.
Whenever there are this many moves, there is sure to be a fair amount of fantasy interest. Many leagues out there have open waivers and free agency all season, and some may open their waiver wires this week.
For people in leagues that let their owners get an early start on adding potential fantasy contributors to their rosters before the season even kicks off, there are a few names that should be on the radar.
If your league makes you wait until the first week of action concludes, these players might be worth keeping an eye on as you enjoy the first week of the glorious return of another NFL season.
Quarterbacks
Tyrod Taylor, Bills – Head coach Rex Ryan named Taylor his starter sooner than expected. The news wasn’t all that surprising, as Taylor protected the ball, showed accuracy, and brings the wild-card element of superior rushing ability to Buffalo’s stagnant passing game. The Bills have some weapons, and Taylor is capable of supplementing his passing numbers with 300+ rushing yards and a few rushing scores this season – a big bonus for fantasy owners. Fantasy owners in the quarterback market should make Taylor their first pick off the wire.
