The NFL’s opening weekend tends to be unpredictable, and 2015 was no different. From huge tight end outbursts, lackluster running backs, and major injuries, Week 1 had its share of memorable performances.

While it’s crucial not to overreact to fantasy studs underperforming in the opener, it’s also extremely important to remember to be proactive and not reactive, especially when approaching your league’s waiver wire.

Here are some players that deserve fantasy attention heading into Week 2. Even if you decide not to acquire any of these players, you’ll want to monitor how they do in the second game.

Quarterbacks
Carson Palmer, Cardinals (ESPN 13% owned) – When healthy, Carson Palmer has been pretty good in Bruce Arians’ offense. Palmer showcased that once again in Week 1 by eclipsing 300 yards with three touchdowns en route to finishing the Sunday slate as PFF’s No. 4 signal-caller. Granted, the game was at home against a depleted New Orleans secondary, but Palmer has another potentially good matchup in Week 2 against a Chicago secondary that allowed Aaron Rodgers to rack up a 140.3 QB rating in Week 1.
