5 high-risk, high-reward fantasy players

With the preseason upon us, it is beginning to feel like football season, isn’t it? Most of us are preparing for our fantasy drafts, while others are kicking themselves for having taken a flyer on Kelvin Benjamin in hopes that he’d repeat his rookie season yardage and touchdown totals. My heart goes out to you.

The idea of risk-reward in fantasy football terms could range from players who have had injury-plagued seasons in the past to aging receivers. It could be a running back working behind a young offensive line or a player who is a year removed from football due to some legal trouble perhaps dealing with a minor in the state of Texas. Too specific?

Ultimately, risk-reward really means low floor, high ceiling. These players might be ranked high based on their potential, but haven’t had the sustained success you’d hope for in a high draft pick. These players might also be ranked lower than expected due to any number of factors, but have the skill set to put up elite numbers over the course of the season.
