The IDP Breakdown - Week 10 Edition

terrellsuggs17Washington @ Minnesota

The ageless London Fletcher got back into our good graces last week with 13 total tackles (seven solo). I’ve wavered back and forth all season in my support for Fletcher or teammate Perry Riley. As the numbers have shown, it’s really a toss up between both players. Either is capable of big games, though it’s extremely difficult to predict which player it will be in a given week. For now, both should be considered back-end LB2s with high fantasy floors. … Ryan Kerrigan might be one of the most underrated players in the league. The third-year man has quietly posted 6.5 sacks on 37 QB pressures. He’s not quite on the fantasy radar outside of big play leagues, but Kerrigan is a name to remember for next season.

The Vikings tandem of Jared Allen and Brian Robison victimized the Cowboys offensive line last week to the tune of a combined 19 QB pressures. Robison converted two for sacks, while Allen was shut out. Still, I’m not too concerned, as Allen’s 10 QB pressures shows just how effective he was. That being said, I’m not crazy about Allen this week in an absolutely brutal matchup against Washington LT Trent Williams, who currently grades out as the No. 2 pass blocking offensive tackle. … Jamarca Sanford has been ruled out for this one. At this point, it’s a good idea to move on from Sanford for other options.

Philadelphia @ Green Bay

The Eagles have really turned a corner over the past month and seem to be gelling on defense. Their pass rush was particularly impressive in Week 9 with Trent Cole, Fletcher Cox, Vinny Curry, and Mychal Kendricks all applying significant pressure on Terrellle Pryor. Cox is the most intriguing name on that list in terms of big play upside. He’s consistently applying pressure on the quarterback, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at the stats sheet. Cox has converted just 7.5 percent of his QB pressures for sacks up to this point in the season, and I would expect that number to move upward. A breakout game could come this week against Seneca Wallace. … Demeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks topped double-digit tackles in Week 9. Kendricks has been the most consistent fantasy option of the two, and has really appeared to turn a corner over the last few weeks. He’s a very intriguing LB2 going forward, while I’d tend to slot Ryans as an LB3.

Brad Jones returned to the starting lineup last week, but the Packers proceeded with caution, rotating Jones with Jamari Lattimore. Jones emerged without suffering any setbacks, so I would expect him to be back in an every-down role this week. With that being said, it’s tough to trust Jones as anything more than an LB3 at this point. … Clay Matthews will be back in action this week after being sidelined for the last month. It may be a good idea to look elsewhere this week if you want to play it safe. Philly is a poor matchup for pass rushers. … After several weeks of frustration, Morgan Burnett is starting to turn it on for fantasy owners. He’s posted 18 total tackles in his last two games and faces a high-powered Philly offense that gives up the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing safeties.
