What exactly is DraftDay and how is it formatted? Well here is a generic description straight from the gift horse’s mouth: DraftDay is a daily fantasy sports website where you can play weekly fantasy NFL games and win real cash prizes. Compared to traditional fantasy football, DraftDay offers short-term games, meaning you can play when you want and pick a new fantasy team every time you play. It’s fun for casual players who don’t want to maintain a season-long team and fantasy diehards who run the risk of player injuries and bad picks that leave you out of the championship running early in the season. Pick a new team each week, play as many games as you want, and pick your stakes (free to $500 buy-in). All games award real cash prizes and DraftDay offers a variety of salary-cap games (both NFL and NBA). Don’t save fantasy glory for the end of the season — win each week on DraftDay!

Is this legal?
Yes, DraftDay is a US-based skill games company. Their fantasy sports games are exempted from Federal online gaming laws. DraftDay is credit card and Paypal approved for deposits and offer cash withdrawals via Paypal and check.

Quarterbacks

Colin Kaepernick

To say Colin Kaepernick had a good game last week would be an understatement. In case you were swamped by the Manti Te’o or Lance Armstrong news this week, Kaepernick had 263 yards passing with two touchdowns and an interception to go with 181 yards and two touchdowns rushing. In case you are thinking he cannot do it again, consider what Cam Newton did against the Falcons in his two games: 502 yards and four touchdowns passing with 205 yards and two touchdowns rushing. So, even though the Falcons had the ninth-best defense against opposing fantasy quarterbacks, they surrendered the fifth-most yards rushing to quarterbacks. The average stat line of Newton’s two games is a good place to start at 251 yards and 2 touchdowns passing with 103 yards and a touchdown rushing.

Current DraftDay Value – $22,900

Tom Brady

Of the four quarterbacks left in the playoffs, Tom Brady is the last remaining “elite” quarterback, which explains his high price tag. Last week Brady threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. In his last game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, Brady threw for 335 yards but only one touchdown. The 335 yards passing was his third highest yardage total during the season. Even though the game is in New England this time, Brady is once again down a tight end which could have Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd see 10 and 12 targets again respectively.

Current DraftDay Value – $25,000

Running Backs

Ray Rice

This week I can only recommend one running back due to the changes going on with the other three backfields. Of the four remaining teams, Ray Rice was on the field for 80% of the offensive snaps. By comparison, Frank Gore had 64% of the snaps, Shane Vareen had 57%, and Jacquizz Rodgers had 50%. Last week Rice ran for 131 yards and a touchdown versus Denver. In the last game against the Patriots he ran for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Current DraftDay Value – $17,250

Wide Receivers

Michael Crabtree

Michael Crabtree has finally been performing at a high level due to experience and the emergence of Colin Kaepernick. Over the last six games Crabtree is averaging 109 yards and a touchdown. His lowest yardage output was a solid 65 yards. If you took that average over the course of the season, Crabtree would total 1752 receiving yards. Let the sleeper talk begin.

Over the last two games Crabtree has been targeted 24 times, good for 40% of Kaepernick’s attempts. That is Brandon Marshall territory.

Current DraftDay Value – $17,450

Anquan Boldin

Adding Anquan Boldin in your lineup is a value and a way to differentiate your lineup from everyone else’s. In each of the last four playoff games the Ravens have played Boldin has out-targeted Torrey Smith, totaling 34 targets to Smith’s 19. Even though Boldin only had four more targets over the course of the season, he is the most targeted by Joe Flacco at 28.3%. Torrey Smith over the same span is at 15.8%.

Current DraftDay Value – $12,450

Tight Ends

Dennis Pitta

Once again Dennis Pitta makes the list. The last time the Patriots faced the Ravens, Torrey Smith had 127 yards and two touchdowns. Similarly, last week against the Broncos, Smith had 98 yards receiving and another two touchdowns. If Bill Belichick schemes against Smith, Pitta will be the beneficiary. Pitta had a drop rate of 4.69% this season, good for sixth among tight ends. New England surrendered the fifth-most points to opposing tight ends, and only two teams gave up more receiving yards. The last meeting saw Pitta with 50 yards and a touchdown, which is a good expectation for this weekend’s game.

Current DraftDay Value – $8,700

One last note of importance is that most salary cap DraftDay games score receptions as point per reception (PPR). Well that’s a wrap folks and hope to square off with a few of you over at DraftDay.
