What exactly is DraftDay and how is it formatted? Well here is a generic description straight from the gift horse’s mouth: DraftDay is a daily fantasy sports website where you can play weekly fantasy NFL games and win real cash prizes. Compared to traditional fantasy football, DraftDay offers short-term games, meaning you can play when you want and pick a new fantasy team every time you play. It’s fun for casual players who don’t want to maintain a season-long team and fantasy diehards who run the risk of player injuries and bad picks that leave you out of the championship running early in the season. Pick a new team each week, play as many games as you want, and pick your stakes (free to $500 buy-in). All games award real cash prizes and DraftDay offers a variety of salary-cap games (both NFL and NBA). Don’t save fantasy glory for the end of the season — win each week on DraftDay!

Is this legal?
Yes, DraftDay is a US-based skill games company. Their fantasy sports games are exempted from Federal online gaming laws. DraftDay is credit card and Paypal approved for deposits and offer cash withdrawals via Paypal and check.

Quarterbacks

Tom Brady

Even though Tom Brady is the most expensive quarterback on DraftDay at $24,050, he should be entered into your lineup. The last time the Patriots played the Texans in Week 14, Brady threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns without Rob Gronkowski on the field. Brady threw for at least two touchdowns in 11 of his 16 games, with three of those 1 touchdown games coming in the first five weeks of the season. As you might expect, the Patriots attempted the fourth most passing attempts this year.

Despite being the 13th-best team against opposing Quarterbacks, the Texans have had a rough time since Week 11. In those seven games the Texans have surrendered a whopping 16 touchdowns through the air.

Current DraftDay Value: $24,050

Russell Wilson

There might not be a Quarterback more in the zone right now than Russell Wilson. In the last four games alone he has totaled 11 touchdowns through the air and ground and rushed for at least 58 yards in three of those games. Since Week 6 Wilson has only scored under 15 standard fantasy points twice. Remember, DraftDay uses six points per passing touchdown.

Current DraftDay Value: $20,050

Colin Kaepernick

Even though the San Francisco 49ers played the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, this is a completely different team now with a new quarterback. In that game Alex Smith threw for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns. Colin Kaepernick presents different challenges for the Packers where Smith did not. Kaepernick had five rushing touchdowns this year on 415 yards. In the last 3 games Kaepernick has thrown for seven touchdowns, four of which to Michael Crabtree (see below).

Current DraftDay Value: $17,000

Running Backs

Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch, like Russell Wilson, has been on quite a hot streak. He has rushed for at least 100 yards in his last five contests. Lynch recorded an elusive rating, which measures the ability of a rusher past the help of blockers, of 51.7, good for ninth among running backs. His 2.77 yards after contact ranked in at 12th. Both of these stats help explain his 5.0 yards per carry average.

The Falcons, the Seahawks next opponent, gave up the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Seattle will want to keep Atlanta’s offense off the field and control the clock. Lynch averaged almost 20 carries a game during the year and Doug Martin rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown in Atlanta’s last game.

Current DraftDay Value: $17,850

Steven Ridley

Most fantasy football players may not realize the Patriots had the second-most rushing attempts this year. Leading that rushing attack is Steven Ridley, who had 290 of the team’s 523 carries. His 2.48 yards after contact and 24.3 elusive rating is essentially equal to Ray Rice’s numbers respectively. Ridley recorded 12 touchdowns this year with 4.4 yards per carry.

Houston will undoubtedly be motivated for this game after being embarrassed just a few weeks ago on the same field where Ridley had 72 rushing yards and a touchdown. Houston totaled the third best record against opposing running backs, but actually had a terrible last 6 games. In those 6 games, running backs had either 100 yards or a touchdown in 5 of them. The first 10 games saw the Texans give up just 1 such game.

Current DraftDay Value: $13,100

Michael Turner

Michael Turner makes this list simply because he is cheap on DraftDay and will get any goal-line carries. When on the field, Turner touches the ball 50.1% of the time while his counterpart, Jacquizz Rodgers, only touches the ball 31.3% of the time. Michael Turner had 222 carries on the year and will get his carries, regardless of production since he averaged less than 3.5 yards per carry in 11 of his 16 games. Here you are banking on a touchdown, which he had 11 of during the season.

Current DraftDay value: $8,450

Wide Receivers

Eric Decker

Over the last 2 years, Rob Gronkowski has recorded the most multi-touchdown receiving games in the NFL. Surprisingly, Eric Decker comes in at second on that list with Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning at the helm. Decker even recorded 5 touchdowns in his last 3 games. If you are thinking about starting Demaryius Thomas, consider this: over the last 3 games Decker has outscored Thomas by 22.7 points in PPR (points per reception) and is $3,050 cheaper for your lineup.

The Baltimore Ravens have given up 5 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in their last 4 games with an average of 160 yards in each game.

Current DraftDay Value: $16,000

Michael Crabtree

Before Michael Crabtree becomes a hot sleeper candidate this summer, you have a chance to cash in now. In the last 49ers game Crabtree was targeted 13 times, or 45% of the passing targets. In his last 3 games Crabtree has averaged 115 yards and 1.3 touchdowns (see Kaepernick, Colin).

The Green Bay Packers have given up 4 touchdowns over their last three games, despite only giving up an average of 111 yards per game. In the first game between these teams, the 49ers had the ball for 6 minutes more in the win.

Current DraftDay Value: $16,450

Torrey Smith

Torrey Smith is still the best boom-or-bust candidate to play in your lineup. Smith saw the second most deep passes—20-plus yards in the air—behind only Calvin Johnson, who had 95 more total targets but only 2 more deep targets. 5 of his 8 touchdowns and 42.3% of his targets came on deep passes.

In the last game between the Broncos and Ravens, Smith was only targeted 3 times despite the game getting out of hand quickly. That will change in this game. Do you feel lucky?

Current DraftDay Value: $9,900

Tight Ends

Dennis Pitta

This week there is no Tight End position in standard DraftDay matchups. Therefore, if you would like to play one you will have to use a flex spot. The best candidate, even over Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, is Dennis Pitta. While you should not expect the same stat line as the last game (125 yards and two touchdowns), Denver still gave up the second most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Over the year the Broncos gave up 11 touchdowns, including the two to Pitta who had 16 receptions in the last 3 games.

Current DraftDay Value: $8,800

One last note of importance is that most salary cap DraftDay games score receptions as point per reception (PPR). Well that’s a wrap folks and hope to square off with a few of you over at DraftDay.
