Stevie Johnson an attractive DFS punt

With DFS sites releasing their player pricing well in advance of kickoff for week 1, there are number of interesting low-salary options that you can take advantage of at running back and wide receiver. Each week, I’ll feature the top punt options at both positions that present the most value for your daily fantasy lineups.

Running Backs

Ameer Abdullah, Detroit Lions – FanDuel $5,900, DraftKings $4,000, Yahoo $18

Abdullah makes for an attractive play in Week 1 for a couple reasons. For starters, head coach Jim Caldwell announced that Joique Bell will be the opening day starter, although he hasn’t played a single snap in the preseason after recovering from knee and Achilles injuries, so there may be a bit of gamesmanship here.

The Lions should get a plus matchup in the run game, facing a Chargers run defense that graded out 20th overall in 2014. Abdullah has a good chance to lead the Detroit backfield in touches and has flashed enough big-play ability to be a solid tournament play in your DFS lineups.
