The midway point of the fantasy season means that we’re entering the playoff stretch drive. Whether you’re comfortably leading your division, or battling to stay in the playoff chase, these middle games are often the most important games towards building an overall winner.
To give your fantasy squad the best chance to get a crucial Week 8 victory, you have to know what players are in favorable situations, and which starters could underperform on the gridiron this week.
Knowing who to start and who to sit is one of the most vital elements that lead to fantasy championships. Here are a handful of players who are noteworthy on this week’s start/sit list.
Start
Quarterbacks
Matt Ryan, Falcons (vs. Tampa Bay) – Ryan had a poor showing in a 10-7 Week 7 victory at Tennessee, and has been quiet overall. But Week 8 looks like the kind of game where Ryan and the Falcons passing game will bounce back. The Bucs have allowed the fourth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and at -26.7, have PFF’s second worst pass coverage unit. As Dan Schneier points out in his Matchup Machine, Ryan should have success in play-action against Tampa’s struggling defensive backs.
