  • NFL Network’s Jane Slater has reported that Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman is expected to be ‘good to go’ for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Norman missed two games while he recovered from a rib injury.
  • Prior to his injury, Norman was performing well for the Redskins in coverage, allowing just 0.75 yards per coverage snap and a passer rating of just 60.1 on throws into his primary coverage, ranking 18th and 23rd among 111 qualifying cornerbacks respectively.
  • His 2017 performance has already added to a mightily productive career, in which he’s played a total of 2309 coverage snaps, seen 342 targets, allowed just 188 completions and logged 39 pass breakups. In his six seasons as a pro, Norman has more interceptions to his name (10) than touchdowns allowed in his coverage (9), and has allowed a reception just once every 12.3 coverage snaps, the fifth best mark among active players with at least 1000 coverage snaps in that span.
  • Norman is set to return against the Cowboys, and will likely resume his rivalry with star receiver Dez Bryant. The pair have faced off in three games throughout their respective careers, but Norman has very much come out on top, and allowed just four receptions from 12 targets for just 27 yards and a passer rating of 42.4 when covering Bryant.
