- The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday they have placed tight end Jordan Reed, running back Byron Marshall, and linebacker Chris Carter on injured reserve. The team has signed running back Kapri Bibbs and linebackers Otha Peters and Pete Robertson to the active roster.
- Reed has shown tremendous pass catching ability when healthy, but injuries have limited his production. He has played less than 400 snaps in three of his five NFL seasons, including a career low 234 snaps in 2017.
- Reed has ranked among the top six tight ends in grade in three seasons, and his 87.6 PFF grade in 2015 was his career high. While battling toe and hamstring injuries this year, he ranks 49th with a 47.0 overall grade.
- In 2015 Reed played 778 snaps, and led all tight ends with 2.45 yards per route run. He was second among tight ends with 11 touchdowns, and tied for the most missed tackles forced with 16.
