Vikings Linval Joseph making case for NFL's premier run stopper

  • Six full weeks into the NFL season and Minnesota Vikings interior defender Linval Joseph is making a strong case to be considered the league’s best run stopper as he leads the NFL in run stops across all positions with 18. His run stop percentage of 16.1 percent also ranks first.
  • Joseph, who has been near elite the past two years, is having quite the good season as a whole. His overall grade of 88.1 ranks ninth among interior defenders. He has been moderately productive when asked to rush the passer also ranking 10th in pass-rush productivity among 4-3 and 3-4 defensive tackles with a mark of 7.
  • When it comes to stopping the run, Joseph had no issue last season either, racking up 31 run stops which ranked fourth among interior defenders.
