Upgrades made along offensive line give Lions flexibility during the draft
- During free agency, the Detroit Lions were forced to replace both guard Larry Warford (81.5 overall grade) and tackle Riley Reiff (67.5).
- New right tackle Rick Wagner (84.5 overall grade) was a top 10 offensive tackle in pass protection last year. His pass block grade of 87.8 ranked ninth among all tackles.
- Detroit’s new right guard T.J. Lang (87.0) was the eighth highest graded guard in the NFL last year. His pass block grade of 92.9 ranked second among guards and his pass block efficiency of 98.5 ranked fourth.
- The Lions now have one of the best pass blocking units in the NFL as 4-of-5 potential starters on the offensive line earned an 80.0 or better grade in pass protection in 2016.
