Ty Montgomery is bulking up for the upcoming season
- The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has reported that Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery has bulked up to 220 pounds. Montgomery was asked to trim weight when he was playing wide receiver.
- In 2016 playing both running back and wide receiver Montgomery earned a 74.3 overall grade. As a running back exclusively this would have earned him the 18th highest grade out of 62 eligible.
- His 2016 highlight as a runner came in Week 15, where he earned the second highest grade among running backs for the week at 83.6. During that game, he forced seven missed tackles on just 16 carries and racked up 160 yards after contact.
- From Week 7 through the postseason, when he was exclusively playing running back, Montgomery was PFF’s most elusive back producing an elusive rating of 97.6. He forced 30 total missed tackles on 141 touches while churning out 4.59 yards after contact per attempt.
