Another week in the books, it’s time to re-shape the quarterback rankings. Once again, I’m using a combination of criteria to sort this list, including our ratings, recent trends, and more. As the season winds down, the year in quarterbacking has been an interesting one to follow, as there are a handful of performances standing out from the rest, as well as encouraging signs from a number of young quarterbacks who look poised to make the list in the near future.
Here’s a look at how the top quarterbacks shake out heading into Week 15.
1. Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals, 99.6
Key stat: On deep passes, Palmer ranks second in the league in both yards (1,094) and touchdowns (10).
2. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers, 99.9
Key stat: On deep passes, Roethlisberger ranks third in the league with 1,024 yards, but also leads the league with six interceptions.
3. Tom Brady, New England Patriots, 95.0
Key stat: Brady leads the league with 13 touchdown passes under pressure.
4. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers, 85.8
Key stat: Newton ranks second in the league with an accuracy percentage of 51.0 on deep passes.
5. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks, 86.1
Key stat: Wilson leads the league with an accuracy percentage of 74.1 when under pressure.
6. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers, 85.5
Key stat: Rodgers is grading at +19.2 against a traditional pass rush, but -3.0 when blitzed.
7. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals, 84.7
Key stat: The recently-injured Bengal ranks eighth in the league in deep pass accuracy, at 47.3 percent.
8. Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders, 84.1
Key stat: Carr is grading at +9.3 under pressure, and +14.8 against the blitz.
9. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints, 83.5
Key stat: Brees is tied for second in the league with a deep passing accuracy of 50.8 percent.
10. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers, 79.4
Key stat: Rivers has faced more pressure than any QB this season, and ranks third in pressured accuracy percentage, at 72.9.
