  • The Oakland Raiders announced Saturday that kicker Sebastian Janikowski has been placed on injured reserve. The team signed kicker Giorgio Tavecchio to the active roster from the practice squad.
  • Janikowski was Oakland's first-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft and is the all-time scoring leader in franchise history. He was 29 of 35 on field goal attempts in 2016, and 26 of 26 on attempts from 47 yards or less. He had touchbacks on 43 of 88 kickoffs with an average depth of the 3-yard line.
  • Tavecchio has been in training camps with four NFL teams before but has never kicked in a regular-season game. He was good on three of four field goal attempts this preseason, and had four touchbacks on 10 kickoffs with an average depth of 1 yard deep in the end zone.
