  • The Chiefs cut veteran running back C.J. Spiller Saturday, leaving them with rookie Kareem Hunt and veteran Charcandrick West as their only two running backs.
  • Spiller had an impressive training camp, and averaged 4.2 yards per carry and 26.0 yards per kickoff return during four games of preseason action. He also broke a tackle on two of his three preseason receptions.
  • The Chiefs appear to have plenty of confidence in Hunt, who was the highest-graded running back in all of college football a season ago (95.1), and West, who broke seven tackles on just 15 rushes during preseason play.
