  • Ian Rapoport reports the Cleveland Browns are releasing S Calvin Pryor officially due to “an internal matter,” says HC Hue Jackson. Pryor reportedly got in a pre-practice fight with teammate Ricardo Louis.
  • With the New York Jets last season, Pryor struggled mightily in coverage after a very strong 2015. His 2016 coverage grade of 44.5 ranked 74th of 82 qualifying safeties. Pryor allowed 354 yards in coverage, 13th most out of 58 safeties with at least 350 coverage snaps.
  • Pryor fared much better in run defense last season, though still left room for improvement. Despite earning a grade of 75.8 (rank 39th of 88), Pryor missed nine tackles in run defense, second most of all safeties.
