  • The Buffalo Bills have cut RB Jonathan Williams, and are now back to three halfbacks on the roster. Williams was a fifth-round pick in 2016 and has been an expected breakout candidate of many.
  • Williams carried the ball 27 times in 2016, gaining 94 yards, 50 of which came after contact thanks to breaking five tackles along the way.
  • In preseason he gained 5.8 yards per carry, 3.6 of which were after first contact, again breaking five tackles on just 21 attempts. He avoided fumbling on any of his preseason carries, having lost the handle on the football twice during the regular season a year ago.
  • LeSean McCoy is unquestionably the guy in the Bills backfield, with only Joe Banyard and Taiwan Jones to compete for backup carries, outside of FB Mike Tolbert.
