Texans defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel reportedly has shown interest and been in contact with East Carolina edge linebacker Dayon Pratt. Here's why the Texans may be interested in the ECU product:
- Could be part of the plan to replace the free agent departure of edge rusher John Simon.
- Pratt contributed regularly on the special teams unit at ECU, much like Simon did with Houston.
- Played 85.8% of defensive snaps for ECU in 2016, finishing the year with a PFF overall grade of 73.4.
- In 2016 Pratt generated 17 total QB pressures, 21 run stops and finished with a 9.5 combined tackle efficiency (total number of attempted tackles made per each missed tackle).
