- According to Adam Schefter, the Houston Texans have placed starting tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz on injured reserve. Fiedorowicz suffered a concussion during Sunday’s 29-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the third concussion Fiedorowicz has had since the end of the 2016 season.
- One of the few bright spots Sunday for the Texans, Fiedorowicz was targeted four times on Sunday, reeling in every pass. Continuing his trend from last year, Fiedorowicz was solid in the slot, with his 2.63 yards per route run (measures productivity on a per route basis by dividing total yards by total snaps in route) second only to Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper.
- Fiedorowicz earned an overall grade of 79.9, good for ninth among all tight ends in week one. His receiving grade of 80.9 was second among all AFC tight ends.
