  • The Houston Texans have just two quarterbacks on the current roster, Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden. While GM Rick Smith said they will add a QB before training camp, the team does not feel pressure to draft one in the first round.
  • Savage played significant snaps in two games in 2016, Week 15 and 16, with game grades of 70.8 and 69.6. Savage left Week 17 after 17 snaps due to injury.
  • Savage was efficient when pressured, completing 18 of 26 attempts and an 89.9 NFL QB rating.
  • Savage was mistake-free yet unspectacular in 2016. On 73 attempts, he did not throw a touchdown or interception. He was just 2-of-7 on passes targeted 20 or more yards downfield, and averaged just 6.32 yards per attempt.
