Texans DE Watt is highest graded interior defender

  • Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt continues to dominate, ranking first among 118 qualifying interior defenders with an overall grade of 91.9. His run defense grade of 93.0 is the highest in the NFL.
  • The Wisconsin-product finished Week 3 with an overall grade of 89.5, the highest among all interior defenders. Watt’s 17.6 run stop percentage ranked seventh among all interior defenders. His three defensive stops in the run game tied for the sixth most among interior defenders.
  • Watt’s 14 total pressures are the fourth most among all interior defenders. Only one other player currently has more total pressures without registering a sack, San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
