Here are the top takeaways and highest-graded players from the Jets' 30-8 win over the Titans:
Tennessee Titans
– Rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota (-2.0) struggled against the strong Jets' defense. In particular, he struggled with the assortment of blitzes the Jets brought at him all game long. The Jets blitzed on 70 percent of Mariota’s drop backs; on those 32 drop backs, he only completed 52 percent of his passes. Mariota did try to challenge the Jets' secondary down the field; however, he was only able to connect on two-of-eight passes over 20 yards.
– Jurrell Casey (+3.7) has been the best player on the Titans' roster for a couple of years now, and once again this season, he has been playing as one of the best pass rushing interior defensive lineman in the league. He has a pass rushing grade of 87.8, the seventh-highest for all interior players. Against the Jets, he was able to record five more hurries to his haul, as he was able to use his combination of strength and quickness to give the Jets issues in the passing game.
– The Titans had to play another game without their best wide receiver in Kendall Wright. Tennessee struggled to get any production out of their wide receivers; both Dorial Green-Beckham (-1.3) and Harry Douglas (-1.2) failed to scare any teams in the secondary, outside of a pick play that caused Harry Douglas to be free on a 52-yard slant play. The Titans had to rely on Delanie Walker (+1.5) to move the chains on a consistent basis.

New York Jets
– Ryan Fitzpatrick (-2.4) had a good fantasy day; his play on the field however, was not impressive. Outside of the touchdown to Brandon Marshall (+0.4) where no one on the Titans' defense was even on the left side of the field, letting Marshall score one of the easiest 69-yard touchdowns possible. Fitzpatrick completed only one pass outside of the numbers over 10 yards, and while he was only pressured on 14 of his dropbacks he made some poor throws that could have been intercepted off of them.
– The Jets have heavily invested in the defensive line, and every week someone stands out and causes the opponents issues. This week was no expectation; Muhammad Wilkerson (+5.1) was a force, recording three sacks and four more pressures after that. In the run game, Wilkerson was also no slouch, recording two run stops. At nose tackle, Damon Harrison (+3.7) has been on a roll the past six weeks, having graded above 2.0 in every game expect one. Thanks to three run stops, Harrison now has the highest run stop percentage, at 17.3 percent, for all defensive lineman.
– When Chris Ivory (+1.5) is on, he is one of the toughest backs to bring down; while he only managed two missed tackles and only gained 2.4 yards after contact, Ivory showed that he is able to use his explosiveness to create yards as well as his pure power. If the Jets are going to make a push for the playoffs they will need to rely on Ivory and the running game to take away some of the pressure that is on Fitzpatrick’s shoulders.
