- Chicago Bears coach John Fox reportedly told the Chicago Tribune that TE Zach Miller is “going to cut it close” to be ready for the start of training camp. Miller has not been participating in minicamp this week and told reporters earlier this month that he is “close” to full health.
- Miller’s overall PFF grade last year of 81.7 was the highest grade of his career, and ranked eighth out of 63 qualifying tight ends last season. His run blocking grade of 77.2 ranked fifth last season.
- Last season Miller had a drop rate 2.08, which was second among tight ends with at least 32 targets, only dropping one pass out of 48 catchable passes.
- Miller forced a total of seven missed tackles in 2016, which tied for eighth among all tight ends.
