- According to Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos are releasing strong safety T.J. Ward.
- Coming off a down year, Ward missed eight tackles against the run, tying him for fifth-most among 83 qualifying safeties. His 11.6 coverage snaps per reception (the amount of times the safety is the primary man in coverage relative to how many receptions he allows) was the fifth-worst in the league among 92 qualifying safeties.
- The veteran did however excel when rushing the quarterback, notching 17 pressures and 11 hurries, both good for most among safeties. His pass-rush productivity (measures pressure on per-snap basis with weighting toward sacks) of 27.7 was good for third most among 32 qualifying safeties.
- Ward has had a strong career, only grading under 80.0 twice in seven years. His lowest graded season however came last year, where he ranked 48th among 90 qualifying safeties, with a 75.9.
