Los Angeles Chargers 2018 offseason moves

A relatively quiet offseason for the Los Angeles Chargers saw the team's marquee signing come in the way of former Dolphins center Mike Pouncey, who finished last season with a 46.5 overall grade. Pouncey finished as the 27th-highest graded center a season ago and is joined by former Broncos tight end Virgil Green, former Eagles cornerback Jaylen Watkins as well as former Giants quarterback Geno Smith joining the QB room behind Philip Rivers.

The offensive line in Los Angeles will look to keep Rivers clean from pressure more often this coming season as he was under pressure on 37.4 percent of his dropbacks a year ago. Yet, Rivers still was sacked when pressured on just 8.1 percent of those dropbacks, the lowest rate in the league.

The Chargers may look to the draft to fill the holes left by the loss of edge Jeremiah Attaochu, LB Korey Toomer and guards Kenny Wiggins and Matt Slauson, the latter duo who combined for 1,464 snaps a season ago. They'll return the services of former first-round pick Forrest Lamp along the offense line as well as the re-signing of Michael Schofield at tackle, but this team is in need of playmakers at a variety of positions heading into the 2018 NFL Draft.

Whether they attack a position of need early or look to add depth throughout their later round picks, the Chargers will certainly be hoping for some immediate playing time from some of their future rookies. What do Senior Analysts Steve Palazzolo and Sam Monson think of their offseason so far?
