  • Shane Vereen is participating in the OTAs at the Giants’ training center, fully recovered from the torn triceps that cost him most of last season.
  • After the emergence of Paul Perkins in 2016, Vereen accepted a pay cut in March, a sign that he would contribute in a reduced role. This would actually suit him quite well, as his best season came in 2013, where he only played 362 snaps.
  • He was most effective over the span of three seasons (2013 through 2015), where he was primarily used as a pass-catching back, playing over 70 percent of his snaps in the passing game.
  • During that time, he caught 183 passes, gaining on average 8.7 yards per reception, forcing 30 missed tackles and scoring 10 touchdowns.
