Seahawks’ Tyler Lockett is remarkably efficient, criminally underutilized

No receiver in the PFF era (2006-18) was more efficient in any one season than Seattle SeahawksTyler Lockett in 2018, and there’s enough evidence to argue he’s been the most efficient wide receiver the NFL has seen in the last 13 years.

Among the 1,690 instances an NFL player has recorded 50 or more targets in a single season since 2006, Lockett’s 2018 campaign ranks first in passer rating when targeted (158.3) and receiving yards per target (15.28). He’s the only pass-catcher in the last 13 years to ever record a perfect passer rating when targeted and average more than 15 yards per target in a single season.

And it only gets more impressive from there. Lockett’s career yards per target average (10.95) and passer rating when targeted (128.6) both rank first among the 321 NFL players with 200 or more targets in the PFF era.
