  • The Seattle Seahawks released eight players on Tuesday, including CB Perrish Cox, a seven-year pro who holds the Big 12’s career record for most kickoff return yards.
  • Cox was signed by Seattle in January as insurance, after starting CB DeShawn Shead tore his ACL in Seattle’s 36-20 playoff loss to the Falcons; Cox had also briefly been a Seahawk in 2013, appearing in two games with the team before being cut.
  • In 2016, Cox started nine games for the Titans, but was cut by the team in late November due to poor performance. His 34.9 overall grade ranked 110th out of 111 qualifying CBs, and marked a major dropoff from his 2015 grade of 71.3.
  • Only one of the eight players released by Seattle, HB George Farmer, saw playing time as a Seahawk in 2016. Farmer appeared in two games and had 1 carry and 1 reception.
