  • NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has reported that the Seattle Seahawks are gauging the trade value of CB Jeremy Lane.
  • The sixth-year cornerback was drafted by the Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft, and has appeared for the team every season since. Lane’s strongest year came in 2014, where ranked 24th of 85 cornerbacks with a PFF overall grade of 79.0, and allowed just 0.78 yards per cover snap, the ninth best mark among 140 cornerbacks with at least 100 coverage snaps.
  • 2016 was Lane’s worst year in coverage. He allowed 1.26 yards per coverage snap and a passer rating of 119.7 on throws into his primary coverage, ranking 64th and 109th of 117 cornerbacks, respectively. Despite struggling in coverage, Lane was effective against the run, and ended the season with a run stop percentage of 2.7 percent, the league’s second highest mark.
  • Seattle's willingness to move him suggests they are happy with rookie Shaquill Griffin in a starting role. In his senior season at UCF, Griffin allowed just 39.7 percent of the passes thrown into his coverage to be caught, and he ranked third among 269 college cornerbacks with a PFF overall grade of 88.2.
