  • The New Orleans Saints have traded running back Adrian Peterson to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional draft pick, it has been reported
  • Peterson was signed by the Saints after being let go by the Vikings this offseason, but he has played just 44 snaps over the first four games of the season, carrying the ball only 27 times.
  • Peterson gained 81 yards on his 27 carries this season (3.0 per attempt), but 72 of those yards came after contact and he broke five tackles to get them. Peterson may still have gas left in the tank, but needs a featured role as a ball-carrier to make more plays with increased volume.
  • With David Johnson lost to injury, the Cardinals have struggled to generate production from their backfield given a poor offensive line. Their backs have gained 74.9 percent of their yards after contact.
