Saints in trade talks regarding S Kenny Vacarro

  • According to Jason La Canfora, the New Orleans Saints are, “engaged in trade talks with a handful of teams,” about safety Kenny Vaccaro. Vaccaro is currently in the last year of his contract.
  • The former first-round pick struggled in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, where his overall grade of 30.3 was the lowest of 69 qualifying safeties. He was targeted five times, allowing five receptions for 82 yards and two touchdowns. His 2.73 yards per coverage snap was the third worst rate among safeties in week one.
  • Despite serving a four-game suspension in 2016, Vaccaro finished the year with an overall grade of 80.8. An up and down career, Vaccaro’s highest graded year was his rookie season, where he finished the year with an overall grade of 83.0. His lowest came in 2014 where he finished the year with a 36.0.
