- Speaking to reporters over the weekend, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said recently re-instated wide receiver Martavis Bryant “looks like a stud, as usual.” Bryant will look to provide another weapon for the Steelers opposite of fellow receiver Antonio Brown this season after sitting out all of the 2016 season due to suspension.
- Bryant burst onto the scene during his rookie season in 2014 by finishing fifth in the NFL in wide receiver rating (passer rating when targeted) with a 125.8 WR rating. Bryant’s production dipped in his second season in 2015, seeing his WR rating fall to 94.2 in 2015.
- With increased playing time in 2015, Bryant’s efficiency dropped off. He finished third in the league in yards per route run in 2014 at 2.76 YPRR on just 199 routes compared to 2.08 YPRR on 367 routes in 2015.
