  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson is expected to miss an extended period of time after suffering a wrist injury against the Detroit Lions. According to Schefter, there has been a lack of consensus between doctors, and the injury could cost him, “anywhere from two to four weeks to three or four months”.
  • Johnson was a breakout star for the Cardinals last season, ranking third among running backs with a PFF overall grade of 87.8.
  • The third-year back excelled in the passing game, ranking sixth among the league backs with an average of 1.73 yards per route run. His receiving grade of 92.7 was not only the highest among running backs, but the third highest receiving grade ever recorded by a running back in the PFF era (2006-present).
  • Johnson was one of the most elusive players in football last season, and forced a total of 71 tackles on 373 rushing and receiving attempts, the highest mark among all players in the NFL.
