QB Kizer has impressed Browns this offseason

  • According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, rookie Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer has made the “biggest leap” of all the Browns quarterbacks this offseason. Cody Kessler is still slated as the Browns starter at quarterback, but Kizer is apparently quickly closing the gap, the true test for Kizer will come in the preseason.
  • Last season, Kizer had a passer rating of 154.7 on play action, which ranked first among all draft-eligible quarterbacks, throwing seven touchdowns to zero interceptions on 63 pass attempts.
  • One area where Kizer didn't compare favorably to his fellow draft prospects was in adjusted completion percentage, where he ranked 29th out of the 43 draft-eligible QBs at 68.0 percent.
  • Entering the draft, Kizer ranked as the fourth-best quarterback and the 65th overall prospect on the PFF big board. Many expected Kizer to be taken in the first round of the draft but the former Notre Dame quarterback fell to the 52nd overall pick.
