- Not long before opening training camp the Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers has told Rich Eisen that former third-round pick WR Keenan Allen looks as good as before he was injured.
- Allen, recovering from an ACL tear in Week 1 of the 2016 season, has only played an average of 476 snaps the past three seasons after playing 1,081 his rookie year. The injury riddled wide receiver did lead the Chargers wide receivers in yards per route run, a measure of productivity on a per route basis, every year before 2016.
- His PFF grade of 88.5 in his rookie year is the second highest wide receiver grade since 2006 by a Chargers wide receiver but hasn't achieved a grade above 82.1 (in 2015) since his rookie year.
