- Starting the Denver Broncos' second preseason game, quarterback Paxton Lynch had a chance to secure the starting role. However, some think he lost that opportunity with his performance.
- Lynch who played 28 snaps recorded a game grade of 49.2 while the Broncos incumbent quarterback Trevor Siemian had a grade of 76.6 over the 24 snaps he played.
- Of Lynch's 13 pass attempts, he completed nine passes for 39 yards. All of his completed attempts travelled less than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, with three completions coming behind it.
- One major difference between Lynch and Siemian in the second preseason game was their performance when under pressure. On the six snaps Lynch was pressured, he completed one of his three attempts for two yards and took a sack. The six snaps where Siemian was under pressure, he completed four of six passes for 58 yards and a touchdown.
