- As reported by Field Yates of ESPN, the New England Patriots have traded former third-round quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts for former first-round wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.
- Dorsett, known as a deep threat coming out of the University of Miami, was targeted deep 27 times his final college season and hauled in six deep touchdowns. But he’s only been even targeted deep 24 times in his NFL career thus far.
- Brissett played in three games last season while Tom Brady served his four-game suspension and Jimmy Garappolo was injured. He played well when throwing short and early. His 73.7 completion percentage when throwing in 2.5 seconds or less led the team. And he had a passer rating of 103.5 when throwing within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.
