The 2016 NFL regular season has come to a close, meaning another full season's worth of grades is in the Pro Football Focus database.

PFF’s Power Rankings are based on Senior Analyst Sam Monson’s ordering of all 32 NFL teams, offenses and defenses. He uses PFF’s overall cumulative grades as a starting point and makes necessary subjective adjustments to account for things that aren’t captured in the grading system, such as injuries.

NFL Power Rankings

With many of the league's top players sitting out Week 17 for teams that had already clinched a playoff berth, the top of PFF's NFL Power Rankings remains relatively unchanged. In fact, Nos. 1-11 remain intact, with the New England Patriots locking in the first spot.

Entering their first-round bye week, the Patriots own the PFF's highest-graded passing unit, led by the top-ranked quarterback this season, Tom Brady. For the season, Brady earned a career-high 99.3 overall grade; he ranked among the top seven QBs in adjusted completion percentage, accuracy under pressure, and accuracy on deep targets. The QB's best game (in terms of PFF grade) came in Week 16 on the back of 214 passing yards and three touchdowns versus the Jets; his “worst” outing fell in Week 10 against Seattle, earning a 76.0 grade at home versus the Seahawks.

Of the 12 playoff teams, the Houston Texans are the lowest-ranked squad in PFF's Power Rankings, at No. 16. In their Week 17 loss to the Titans, neither Brock Osweiler nor Tom Savage graded well, with both quarterbacks earning marks below 46.0. Saturday's meeting with Oakland will likely be a showcase of defense from both sides, as the Raiders are experiencing QB issues of their own due to injuries. For the season, the Texans own the No. 8 defense in PFF's Power Rankings, while the Raiders' unit sits at No 18.
