  • The Patriots have invited former Cincinnati Bengals safety Taylor Mays to minicamp.
  • Mays first came into the league in 2010 with the 49ers, where he posted a solid grade of 72.0 over 439 defensive snaps. Mays last played in 2015, when he recorded a 65.3 overall grade across 322 defensive snaps.
  • The 439 defensive snaps Mays saw in his rookie season were the most he has seen so far for any single season of his career; outside of that 2010 season, there was just one year (2015) where Mays tallied at least 300 defensive snaps.
  • Over his first five seasons (2010-2014), Mays missed a combined three tackles over 1,019 defensive snaps; in 2015 though Mays missed four tackles in 322 snaps. Mays’ 6.3 tackle efficiency rating (the number of attempted tackles per every miss) ranked 70th out of 101 qualified safeties.
