Here are the top-graded players and biggest takeaways from the Giants' 28-23 win over the Eagles.
Quarterback grade: Eli Manning 80.5
Manning’s best outing since Week 2
There were a handful of throws I’m sure Manning would like to have back — most notably an overthrow on a crucial fourth down to Odell Beckham Jr. – but for the most part he was efficient and kept the ball out of harm's way. It’s hard to ding him for either interception as one came after Nolan Carroll wrestled the ball way from ODB and another off a batted pass at the line of scrimmage. He also made what was perhaps his best throw of the season to Victor Cruz with 10:53 remaining in the second quarter.

Running game needs an overhaul
The first play of the game was a refreshing six-yard carry from Rashad Jennings that caught the defense off guard with the speed with which it was run. Finally the Giants were trying something different — or so it seemed. It wouldn’t last though as the league’s worst rushing offense continued their futility with their power-heavy scheme that went nowhere. Like most of the season the run-blocking grades weren’t abysmal by any means, but the Eagles never seemed off balance or out of position against the Giants concepts leading to ineffective run after ineffective run. Paul Perkins at least should some life with a 14 scamper on a pin and pull run late in the game, but that was about it for an offense that gained 58 yards on 22 carries.

Secondary shines
The final coverage stats for the Giants starting secondary were as impressive as it gets. DRC, Janoris Jenkins, Landon Collins, and Andrew Adams were targeted 21 times, only allowed 10 catches for 155 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. That’s a passer rating of 32.9. Janoris Jenkins was particularly impressive yielding one lone catch on six targets for 17 yards.
Quarterback grade: Carson Wentz 51.6
Late comeback not enough
You can’t start out as poorly as Wentz did Sunday and expect a high grade. The first one to Landon Collins was a horrible decision that never should have been attempted while the second one was high and over the middle – a quarterbacking sin. He rebounded well though, pushing the ball downfield better than most recent games. 63.8 percent of his yards came through the air as opposed to 49.2 percent in their seven previous games this season.

Fourth down calls haunt Eagles
It’s hard to boil a game down to two plays, but with how important the two failed fourth downs were in Giants territory they’re worth examining. The first was a misdirection play that was doomed from the start. The line blocking was setting up for Wentz to pull to the edge and no one bit on the fake to Sproles as it was headed right into a blitz off that end. The second play was simply a product of not having a short yardage back on the roster. They asked Darren Sproles to grind out a tough yard and he simply couldn’t move Damon Harrison backwards on contact.

Carroll stands out in secondary filled with miscommunications
There were multiple touchdowns for the Giants Sunday during which it was more than fair to still be confused as to who screwed up in the Eagles secondary, even after multiple replays. The one player that was rock solid all day though was Noland Carroll. He had no business intercepting a slant route against Odell Beckham Jr., but he somehow did it anyways. He allowed one catch all game long for only 10 yards.
