- Zach Berman of philly.com reports Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator would not squash rumors that wide receiver Nelson Agholor could play in the slot more this coming season. This would come at the cost of Jordan Matthews, who, despite failing to meet expectations of fans, earned a 74.8 overall grade in 2016 and produced among the league’s top slot receivers.
- This would be a big move for Agholor, who has been disappointing in his own right, with his highest season grade so far being 39.4 in 2016. Agholor has run just 18.6 percent of his routes from the slot as a rookie in 2015 and 22.0 percent in 2016.
- Jordan Matthews has been very productive for the Eagles from the slot. Since entering the league in 2014 he has the most receiving yards from the slot with 2389, the second most receptions at 198, and tied for the third most touchdowns with 18.
